Vacation (Such That It Was)

Whee. Finally going to post in my [lj]. I've been home for a week and a half already, and at school for most of that week and a half, but I couldn't devote time to writing. But I can get a jump on it now.

15th
~ driving: home -> Pittsburgh

16th
~ Carnegie Mellon University: liked the campus, like the program, applying

17th
~ exploring Pittsburgh: market district, badly named "Strip District"
~ found amazing chocolate shop (Mon Amiee Chocolat) and bought much yummy cacao products

18th
~ driving: Pittsburgh -> Cleveland
~ went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, which was noisy and rock and roll-y and fun

19th
~ Case Western Reserve University: didn't have my program, Cleveland is a dead city, not applying

20th
~ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum: go to Cleveland just for that, I am not kidding

21st
~ driving: Cleveland -> Corning

22nd
~ Corning Glass Museum: so. . .much. . .glass
~ driving: Corning -> Ithaca
~ dinner with friend of Mom's she hasn't seen in 33 years; he is very cool

23rd
~ Ithaca College: gorgeous view, middle of nowhere, has my program, applying
~ puttering around Ithaca: imagine a slice of Greenwich Village up in Central New York
~ dinner with first friend (Leon) and another of Mom's friends (Gerry)

24th
~ driving: Ithaca -> West Springfield

25th
~ driving: West Springfield -> Warwick (which is outside of Providence)

26th
~ Brown University: big disappointment, not applying
~ dinner at this seafood restaurant on a dock that Mom and Dad last went to when I was like 2

27th
~ Newport - yay touristy!, cool shopping area, got myself a ruahna (Irish shawl), ate at another restaurant Mom and Dad went to before I was born

28th
~ driving: Warwick -> home
