Homophobes Suck

And so, in one depressing moment, an otherwise wonderful evening was tarnished irreparably by a group of probably drunken, most likely frat boys and jocks. Not destroyed, mind you, because they couldn't ruin ballroom dancing, fending off men with a stick (though I would have thought the suit and tie would have done that), the fantastic trannie comedian (she was more of a woman that I'll ever be, I swear), the better of the kareoke singers and drag acts, not to mention the goodnight kiss I got from Rachel, the wonderful, beautiful girl I went on the date with on Tuesday. Mm...but I digress.

To be totally blunt, what the fuck, people? You come into the damn room, which is labeled all over the place with what we were doing there. Yout sit down and watch us be deviant, because I know those boys were there for at least an hour. And then you make rude comments about those of us in drag, and about queers in general. The president, a tall blond man in blue eye make-up and blue leopard-print pleather pedal pushers and halter, and a guy dressed normally hurried off to get security (since Gus in blue said that security wouldn't take a gay man in drag seriously). Two other girls and I, the three of us in drag, pointed out that they had no right to insult our choices until they had put on dresses and tried it themselves. Then I left, because I couldn't stomach the stupidity and homophobia.

I'd write a rant about how it's not affecting them, and that it's none of their damned business, and that we weren't forcing anything on them, but I'm too damn tired. Rachel and I are trying to get together on Sunday, and I have work to do before then. I think I shall go off and dream of giving cooties to frat boys, or, as Jane so poetically put it, biting them and spreading the gay.
