Mom and Dad have just informed the brother and me that they're getting a divorce.

Is it bad that I saw this coming, and had hoped they could hold out until after my brother was out of the house?

I...I really need to get out of here, I can't deal with this right now. I'd even be up for drinking myself into unconsciousness at this point.

edit: And they've just announced they still want us to do a family vacation this year, attendance theoretically optional (though Mom's already working up to a guilt trip, I can smell it). I can't do this.

If you could see it coming, then it was probably time. Your brother's old enough to navigate a joint custody situation, and I would guess that actually will be a lot healthier for him than dealing with the death throes of your parents' relationship for another three whole years. :(

Yeah, that was my thought. It's just that he's a young 15, so I'm a bit worried. But I'm positive Mom and Dad will do their best, and I've already offered up the option of having him stay in the dorm with me overnight if things really get icky.
