Help!

Cards are done. Matches are made. Will either send out the e-mails tonight or tomorrow, depending on my mood.

But! I need a beta for my [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest fic! No more than 3,000 words of J/D, AU after s8. They've got a baby, but it's not an assbaby, I promise. It's got queer themes, of course. I should have it finished in the next few hours, and then I need it back tomorrow so I can make whatever changes I need and post it to the comm on Friday.

Grammar/syntax should be pretty good, I just need someone to look it over and make sure it's not choppy or awkward.

Please! Help! I'll write you a drabble in exchange!

I can do it, if you don't find a better person. :)

My usual beta is down with food poisoning or something. If I don't find someone else before I leave for work, you're getting it. Thanks, hon.

Teehee, I can't wait until you see your assignment.

I am looking at your icon and now I am concerned.

*evil laugh*

(The icon was actually an accident. You'll be fine.)

When did I become your usual beta? I mean, I know it happened, I just don't remember it happening.

Less than a year ago. I think I betaed a few things for you, then you betaed a few for me, and we just kept it up. I never actually used to use betas, really; I'd just run my ideas past other people sometimes, and then do all the grammar/syntax myself.

Y'know what I think happened? It was last year's J/D Ficathon. I remember having a lot of trouble with that one because I started late and was so tired and you were also running behind and we kind of held each other up during that. I know you betaed that one and I had a couple at the end of the year that you betaed (when I was doing my must-beat-personal-word-count insanity).

I bop around betas a lot because I write in so many fandoms so sometimes I miss when someone has done quite a few betas for me. Though I do know [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt has betaed a ton of my fics; she's fast and very thorough and we mesh very well.

Yeah, that does sound about right.

I am eagerly awaiting my prompt, and I want you to know that I'm having a home internet disaster. I might not have internet service at home for a few days, and if I don't, that means I won't be able to respond to your assignment email until next week.

But I'm still here. Thank you for doing the ficathon!

And if I didn't have this internet issue at home I'd have volunteered to beta your story. But I see you have a taker. I stopped watching the lgbt fest comm because there were hardly any stories in fandoms I read -- will you post an announcement here, or just on the comm?

thanks again.

Thanks again.

Yus, I tend to announce my fic here, as well. Also, if you follow [livejournal.com profile] writers_island, it'll actually be posted there.

thanks for the all the info and for all your hard work!
