But, I have good news!

And it doesn't involve car insurance...
The University of Maryland, College Park has a policy called Freshman Forgiveness. Basically, it means that if one fails a course in hir first two semesters, it can be retaken at a later date and the F scratched from the GPA (though it stays on the transcript). This is, obviously, wonderful news. My advisor and I sat down and looked at it, and the plan is to retake THET112 in the fall (which will require juggling the Four Year Plan, oh noes!) and ANTH240 in spring '07. Hopefully, the ARTH290 prof will give me a make-up exam or a paper to write (he said he would...) and I can bring the grade for that up to a D or even a C. Worst case scenario is I retake ARTH290, too, but I can fit it in senior year somewhere. Now I just need eight people to drop out of DANC128 or leave the waiting list, and I will be in scheduling heaven.
(At this point I must add that I'm still on academic probation, and have to bring up my cumulative GPA to above a 2.0 before next spring, so I didn't get away without any ill-effects, but I think I can do it this semester. Feel like I've learned my lesson,
somayyouall? I wuv you, anyway, even if you give me a hard time. I deserve it.)
(It also must be noted that my advisor suggested that I minor in anthropology, since I'm already taking all three of their fundamentals, and I'm afraid to say that I laughed at him. I explained that there was no way that it would fit, and he laughed at that point, too, but it was bad.)
In other news, the first Crucible rehearsal is this evening at 6p. Therein ends anything resembling a social life between now and mid-March. Whee!
