melayneseahawk: (instant failure)
First midterm tomorrow, for THET112. I theoretically know what it's on, and the format, but I'm not convinced I'm going to do well on it. This is...not good. I can't fuck up this class again.

In other news, I officially bought six months of World of Warcraft, and am debating also buying the expansion to supplement it.

Hello, my name is Melayne, and I have a problem.

Wah, should prolly study or something, but I'd much rather pretend to write. *buggers off to do that*

(yeah, sorry I've been so spammy today)

Total crack. Blame this on my ANTH240 class and [livejournal.com profile] theemdash; I do. [livejournal.com profile] kashmir_ki_kali, don't read this, I'm too young to die.

“I love it when you talk dirty...rocks,” Jack said, voice overdramatic and breathy. “It really turns me on.”

(Provenience | Prompt 051: Humor | PG-13 | 264 words)

Feedback is better than chocolate.

It's really lovely to wake up to six people telling you you rock. I can do this exam now.

Well, that went better than expected. You all know my dislike for rehashing tests, so I'm not going to natter on about it now.

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday. Having dinner with three Catholics on Shrove Tuesday? Really amusing.

Goal for today: one of the two [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000 stories. Cheer me on!

Oh, and I want one of these. So awesome!

Frankenmix explanation here. Files up in SendSpace.

Since the music collection is still spotty, I only used musicals for this one. It worked better than I'd expected.

Frankenmix 9.0 [Jan-Feb 07]
Calendrical Mix

1. A song for new beginnings (January): “Another Openin’, Another Show” – Kiss Me, Kate
The overture is about to start
You cross your fingers and hold your heart
It's curtain time and away we go -
Another op'nin
Just another op'nin of another show!

2. A song for love (February): “Sometime, Do You Think We Could Fall in Love?” – Zanna, Don’t!
Sometime, do you think we could fall in love?
How about this Sunday?
Or is tomorrow soon enough?
How about tonight then?
Although I tell ya I don't see
How I'm gonna last that long
If we don't fall in love right now.

3. A song for storms (March): “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” – The Fantasticks
Soon it's gonna rain.
I can see it.
Soon it's gonna rain.
I can tell.
Soon it's gonna rain.
What are we gonna do?

4. A song for restoration (April): “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” – Monty Python’s Spamalot
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best

5. A song for remembering (May): “I Remember It Well” – Gigi
It warms my heart to know that you
Remember still the way you do.
Ah, yes, I remember it well.

6. A wedding song (June): “Old-Fashioned Wedding” – Annie Get Your Gun
We’ll have an old fashioned wedding
Blessed in the good old fashioned way
I’ll vow to love you forever
You’ll vow to love and honour and obey
Somewhere in some little chapel
Someday when orange blossoms bloom
We’ll have an old fashioned wedding
An simple wedding for an
Old-fashioned bride and groom

7. A song for independence (July): “Rent” – Rent
Draw a line in the sand
And then make a stand!
Use your camera to spar
Use your guitar
When they act tough - you call their bluff

8. A song for reaping (August): “Luck Be a Lady” – Guys and Dolls
You're this a date with me
The pickings have been lush
And yet before this evening is over
You might give me the brush
You might forget your manners
You might refuse to stay
And so the best that I can do
Is pray.

9. A song for labour (September): “Ol' Man River” – Showboat
You an' me, we sweat an' strain,
Body all achin an' racked wid pain.
Tote dat barge!
Lif' dat bale!
Git a little drunk
An' you land in jail.

10. A creepy song (October): “Good Old Days” – Damn Yankees
I see Bonaparte, a mean one if ever I've seen one
And Nero fiddlin' thru that lovely blaze
Antionette, dainty queen, with her quaint guillotine
Ha ha ha ha
Those were the good old days

11. A song for thanksgiving (November): “What I Did for Love” – A Chorus Line
Kiss today goodbye,
The sweetness and the sorrow.
Wish me luck, the same to you.
But I can't regret
What I did for love, what I did for love.

12. A song for a funeral (December): “Funeral Tango” – Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris
Ah, I can see me now
So cold and so alone
As the flowers slowly die
In my field of little bones
melayneseahawk: (hallelujah)
