Help! Have a question.

Fifth is running Vista Basic on a Celeron M processor (430 @ 1.73GHz) with 502 MB of RAM and a 32-bit operating system. It is less than a month old.

So, tell me: why does it lock up? why is there a keyboard delay? why does it freeze and run like molasses and why does it suck?

Obviously, I'm having computer trouble.

So, because I can't deal with this right now, memes:

Took a look at the Vista recommended system specs: 512 MB for Basic, but everything else wants at least a gig. *insert cursing at Gateway here*

Called the company and gave some poor tech guy hell. Was told that 10 MB of RAM go to the video card off the top, leaving only 502 for Vista to play with. Basically, they sold me a computer that couldn't handle its OS.

This was a pre-designed laptop. That they set up.

And it can't run its OS.

*is furious*

Tech Dude told me the best plan would be to remove one of my two 256 MB RAM sticks and replace it with a 512 MB one. This would cost me about $100, plus I'd have to install it myself.

I inform Da of all this (interspersed with a screaming argument, see below) and he calls them to give them hell, too. He's a lot scarier than me, so he gets a manager, tells him they should be ashamed of themselves, and gets the guy to agree to sell us a gig of RAM for half the price, which Da will be paying for. It'll be here in about a week or so, and then Da will install it for me.

I think they should have given it to us for free.

(Why bloody fucking hell does an OS need 1+ GB of RAM, anyway?)

The aforementioned screaming argument was about who was to "blame" for this issue.

Yes, Harlan's fan probably gave out because of accidental improper care on my part. But I told Da all I wanted was to fix Harlan.

Da is the one who told me to just buy a new one.

He's the one who picked out the new machine.

I think I make my point.

*fumes*

And the printer's still flipping a shit.

*fumes some more*

Apparently, I do memes when I get this angry. Who knew?

Now, to shut everything off and try to take out my rage on WoW (assuming I can get the bastard thing to work).

(And yes, there is class-related stuff I would be talking about, but I'm too angry.)
