melayneseahawk: (blessed are the dumb)
aka My Morning in Brief

~ the trio next to me in astronomy who spent the entire 50 minutes talking, and did not deign to even pretend to take notes. Would. Not. Shut. Up. even after I told them to keep it down. Eh, malevolent looks do a body good, right?

~ the chick who had to look stylist to go to class, at at 10a was already limping in her stiletto-heeled boots. Honey, if you can't walk in the shoes, you shouldn't be wearing them. That's why I only wear the heeled not-All-Stars when I'm going to be spending most of my time sitting.

~ all the girls who couldn't be bothered to check a weather report this morning, and then stand there in their tank tops and shorts and teeny skirts bitching about how cold it is. Weather.com is just a click away, ladies.

That was your morning dose of snark. Now back to your regularly-scheduled bitching.

melayneseahawk: (seasonal)
To be honest, though, I actually like it, other than the fact that it's probably what's making me sick. I like that cooler part of fall before it gets really cold and snappish, so this is nice. I have long-sleeved shirts, I have a light-weight jacket, I'm set.

I have a Meditation on Fall, I suppose, but I'll wait a few days and post it on the equinox.

So is it bad if the most interesting thing that happened to me today was almost getting run over by a car? I'm not kidding, though, bastard ran the red light and had I been two steps further forward (which I would have been had I not stopped at the corner to look at a sign), he would have hit me. Coincidence is a wonderful thing.

The low point of the day was definitely having a money conversation with Da when he dropped off my Sudafed (I can breathe, it's a miracle!). I explained to him that I wouldn't be able to continue paying for therapy and not be flat broke, and he skipped the lecture about money management and said that if I could show him some good grades come the beginning of October, he'd have the fight with Mum to have them pay for therapy all the time (currently, I pay for one session a month, but even if I spend no money between now and the end of the semester, I'll be flat broke by December). I love my Da, he seems to have a much better grasp of this whole college student thing than Mum does. (He also tried to convince me to let him pay for any necessary school supplies in the meantime, but I'm going to try not to need that.)

Also, this is why I love my family:

Da (across a distance of about 10 feet, as I head off to the bus and he to the parking lot): Now don't take that Sudafed and make meth in the dorm now!
Me: Of course not, I need it to breathe. Why waste it?
Da: Yeah, well, you'd probably want to do it in the design room, anyway.

And my one thought, other than amusement? If I do it there, I'd have to share.

Yes, I know, I'm going to hell.

Oh, and the Geekling was on TV for about 2 seconds last week as part of his marching band. He's actually on the screen, sort of, so let me know if you want to see it. He looks positively adorkable in the uniform.
