melayneseahawk: (abandon hope)
I've been rumbling my usual year's end memes around in my head, and I really don't want to do them. I feel like nothing happened this year, other than me getting a little older and a lot more crazy, and who really wants to hear about that?

But then again, maybe I should, in the hope that I can look back next year and smile over how far I've come.

(Yes, it's past 4a. I slept from midnight to 6p yesterday, and now I can't sleep at all. WTF, brain?)

I don't even know how I got to this. I'm not awake enough to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon YouTube.
I wouldn't call it the Evolution of Dance, personally, since it's not exactly in order. It's rather funny how gay some of these dance trends were. And I love how he flat-out refuses to do the Macarena (at around the 5 minute mark).

(And then there was a spoof on it which was the first 45 seconds of music, with a guy just standing there drinking a beer and pretending to nod at people. I'll admit it, I laughed out loud.)

Alright, it's about nine. I think the Imaginary Roommate is gone for the day, so I can put up a load of laundry (the laundry room is through her bedroom). I don't even want to think about how much stuff I have to do today to make up for everything that didn't get done yesterday.

I suspect this will be a spammy day. Be warned!

I decided this one didn't need to be beta-ed, so I just went over it for typos (found three!), slapped a name on it, and here we go:

for [livejournal.com profile] sorcha_gaia, who as a block-breaker prompted me: SGA, verdure/verdant, wire, metacarpals
Helping Hand | NC-17 | 1434 words | complete
John didn’t think he took a real breath until they were back in Atlantis and Rodney was on his way to the infirmary. Maybe not even then.
Rodney gets hurt on a mission; s5; pre-slash, I guess, though there's porn in them thar hills; no spoilers

Why do you people keep making me write McShep? I don't ship McShep. I don't like McShep. And yet all three Atlantis fic I've written have McShep in them (even though one and a half are unrequited, and the third one could be, too...). Sheesh.

I would love to finish another fic or two before the 31st, but I'm not sure it's gonna happen. Especially since the one I'm working on next is a tear-jerker.

Now, to fold first load of laundry, remove second load from the dryer, and decide if I need to wash both sets of sheets or just the ones with the grapefruit juice on them.
