Indian Summer Mix
1. A piratey song: “Black Freighter” – Steeleye Span
And the ship, the Black Freighter,
With fifty long cannons,
Opens fire on the town.
[Amusingly, this is a Brecht song, and it's Brecht who is currently making my life hell in both play analysis and design.]
2. A song for an unexpectedly rainy morning: “Rain on the Roof” – Lovin’ Spoonful
You and me were gabbin' away,
Dreamy conversation, sittin' in the hay.
Honey, how long was I laughing in the rain with you?
'Cause I didn't feel a drop 'til the thunder brought us to.
3. A song that would fit in on Sesame Street: “The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)” – Simon & Garfunkel
