when, in coversation, you say that it's obvious that your father is male because of the mustache and your mother says "among other things" with a singularly wicked look on her face. Oh dear God, I am traumatised for life. This isn't supposed to happen after you're about 14. Ugh!

In other news, I still don't like Cam Mitchell, but Daniel makes me squee. Actually, that's not news at all, is it?

Hey, there are worse things, honey. I will never forget the day, about two years ago, when my mom was driving me to work at Camp Apollo, and we were talking about having children. I asserted that there was no motivation for the average woman to have children, and she said, "Well, Laura, your dad and I really wanted to have you. We had to do acrobatics to conceive you."

I just sat there, somewhere between laughing and crying, hideous positions running through my mind, until my mom added, "Medical acrobatics...we went to fertility doctors...what's wrong?" Ick.
