melayneseahawk: (wtf)

Boys are confusing. For my next birthday, I want a dictionary for translating boy behaviour. Examples:

Steve, the guy from downstairs, and I messed around a few days ago, and it was a disaster (see the single "omfg hurts" line in this post). This was Sunday night into Monday morning (and I discovered that walking funny and an inability to find a comfortable way to sit, in addition to the blister on my foot, make life very complicated when your day consists of running between classes, 90 minutes of ballet, and then sitting in a chair taking line notes for four and a half hours), and I didn't see him again for more than a few minutes until last night. One can imagine my nerves, knowing how I get. Last night consisted of random non-conversation, him stealing my mac and cheese and making me chase him down the hall...twice...to retrieve it. Then, on his way out the door and back to his room, he grabs my head and kisses me, and in front of the roommie's better half, and then runs out. WTF?

Brad, the guy playing Judge Hathorne in Crucible, has been hitting on me outrageously for the past week, since we got the actors off the table and onto the taped-out stage. He's not my type, since he's an arrogant ass but not attractive enough to make me ignore the fact, so I wouldn't care, but it's ridiculous. I mean, he's even taken to winking at me when the director's talking to another actor. I haven't been leading him on, I don't think, so how the hell to I get him to stop?

Art, the guy playing Proctor, might also be flirting with me. But I'm not sure, and this scares me. It's either that, or a complicated game of "Tease the Freshman" and "Confuse the ASM". Or maybe that's "Tease the ASM" and "Confuse the Freshman". I don't know. It must be noted, though, that he's 24 and a smoker, so I shouldn't even think about it, but it's difficult when he always asks me for pencils from The Kit (even though he should technically be asking Erin if she's available), always bugs me about line notes (even when Amy's taking them that day), and does "pigtails in the inkwell" things like tapping on the legs of the chair I'vd just picked up to carry across the room (granted, when I looked at him in confusion, he apologised and almost blushed under the part-required beard). Again, WTF?

And all that was basically to get my thoughts in order. Didn't get anywhere, though...

In totally unrelated news, the Daniel Jackson [livejournal.com profile] slash_100 is going well, finally. It's nice to have lots of people tell me that I melted their brains in 350 words or made them cry in 500. Very gratifying, I must say. Now I just need to keep up with at least two fic of some type a week, and I'll be happy. Pft, who needs schoolwork, anyway?

Equally unrelated, and I blame this on the roommie, but I spent half an hour watching a show on MTV called "True Life", which follows three or four people who have some situation in common and tapes them dealing with real life. In my usual oddness, I went to look up the show online, since the episode was a thought-provoking one (*gasp*, I know), and before I knew it I was on the page with their casting call for future episodes. And two-thirds of the way down, I found a call for "TRUE LIFE: I'm Out":

Now that the anxiety of coming out to your friends and family is over, it's time to find out what being openly gay means to you. From going on your first date to marching in your first pride parade, True Life wants to follow you as you adjust to and explore the realities of gay life. Are you starting to date and not sure how to get into the game? Are you learning how to read your Gay-dar and are anxious to see if it works? Are you currently seeking new gay friends and feeling stressed about leaving old ones behind? Are you ready to go on a gay cruise or enter a drag contest but are afraid of what your family will think? Are you now homeless or being bullied as a result of coming out?

If you appear between the ages of 18 and 28 and are finding out that settling into your sexuality is tougher than you thought it would be we'd like to here from you. Please e-mail us your name, age, location, picture and brief situation to Out@mtvstaff.com

Should I do it? Advice needed.

Lol, so you find Steve attractive enough to offset his being an arrogant ass? Because you know he is. He is also... somewhat crazy, and rather immature. And he did quite a bit of drinking yesterday. So that might explain some things. Good luck with that.

And good LORD, don't do the MTV thing. They are stupid.

Yeah, I guess so. Was he drinking before I got back from rehearsals? He seemed sober enough, albeit goofy, when I got back.

And stupid, yes, but wouldn't it be exciting? Heh.

Ew. If you do it while you're here, I refuse to be in anyway involved.

Also, yes. Evan told me how they went out with Steve's dad and they all had some beers. Including Steve's dad while driving. And Steve had some sort of "secret ingredient" in his Fresca when he came a-visiting before you came back. Eh, he might've sobered up by the time you came back, though. I dunno.
