And Now, For Something Completely Different
Saturday, 24 June 2006 14:48A post!
Well, sort of.
The short answer is that I'm still alive, and mostly well. The long answer will have to wait for another post. The block has landed, in any number of ways.
But, my brother is in training to be a real comedian. When listening to "I Waste 'em With My Crossbow", he adjusted a section of the chorus thusly (slightly edited for the sake of rhythm and rhyme):
He wastes me with his crossbow
I get shot in the ass
By the guy behind me
And now my ass is grass
And this is why I keep him around, swear to God.
Oh,
ibneko,
jaiwithani, or
allandaros, do you have that clip with the a capella doing the video game music? I want to show it to the geek-in-training.
And now, a meme tagged by

When you comment on my journal, I give you a letter of the alphabet. Then you have to think of 10 words that start with that letter and say what those words mean to you.
i. Friday: This used to be my favorite day of the week, but now that I work closing most Fridays, I'm not so much of a fan anymore.
ii. Friendly Hostility: FH is an awesome webcomic. Beware teh Ghey, but I think you all will live.
iii. Fingers: I find them to be very, very useful. Without them, I wouldn't be typing this, after all!
iv. Feelings: They are something I really wish I could do without at times.
v. Frenchmen, preferably of the taunting kind: Spamalot at the National Theatre was the most. awesome. thing. ever. That is all.
vi. Fanfiction: Yeah, I know, we're all supposed to grow out of that phase at some point. Except not. :D Honestly, I find it good practice for original fiction writing: drabbles have helped me use my words more effectively and working with a character template of sorts (because that's what it is) has helped me work on my own character development and ability to wrap up plots. Now I just need to put all this to good use...*thwaps muse*
vii. Folk Music: Without this oft-teased genre, I wouldn't have much of a musical background. I was in training to be a political protester with flowers in my hair and a guitar in my lap when any sane child was watching Sesame Street and learning how to write.
viii. Food: Not something I like to eat so much, but I do like to cook. Speaking of, there are recipes I've been meaning to put up.
ix. Friends: Ooh, sappy, I know, but without them I'd be in a mental institution by this point. It's still a possibility, but at least I'll have company!
x. Faire: Ye Olde Renn Faires are all kinds of awesome. Also, I always love any opportunity to wench up. If people are around (it's the last weekend of August through October, so I'm not optimistic), we should arrange a trip up this year.
Well, sort of.
