Jackhammers in the Basement

Sounds like a great name for a band, yeah? Actually, they're done with the jackhammers, but I still can't get over it.

Our (unfinished) basement floods rather often, so our landlord finally decided to get it waterproofed. We spent the weekend "responsibly de-accessioning" clothes and toys to NAMI, throwing out all the old cardboard boxes (some from when we moved almost 15 years ago) and junk, covering the many bookshelves, and then hauling everything else upstairs. The "library" is full of bicycles and boxes of my parents' many diplomas and my Grandfather's rocking horses and the old china set and the like. And my basement is full of large, heavily-tattooed, very polite gentlemen with jackhammers, pickaxes, and bags of concrete.

We have a moat. On the inside of the house. o.O They should be done tomorrow, hopefully.

ResLife still hasn't assigned me a dorm. I get to storm the castle on Friday if they still haven't assigned me one, but there will be many more terse phone calls before then. I should be packing, since it's basically my last chance to do so, but many of my clothes are dirty and we can't get to the washer/dryer and the task is so daunting. My list is very funny-looking.

Oi, people, when are your Spring Breaks? I've decided which club I'm taking kashmir_ki_kali, and anyone else who wants to come along, to.

I'm not seeing anyone until...May. Spring break is March 10 - 17 for me, and no one is here!
