Yeah, so the poetry hasn't died, it just went underground while I was recovering this weekend. Will start up again tomorrow.

Remix went up last night. Site doesn't go live until around 22 April, and it's anonymous for a week, and then they all go public. Let me know if you want a link to my story and I'll get it to you, or you can go and try to find me (Hint: it's Atlantis fic.), or you can wait until they go public and I link it back here. I really love the way it came out. I can't wait to see what was written for me.

And now, because I don't want to do my bibliography, I shall post a writing meme.

What if fandoms were like boyfriends?

Wait, they are like boyfriends. They break our hearts and empty our wallets and prevent us from getting laundry done.

The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart into a million pieces and laughed about it.

Sailor Moon
Yeah, I know, shut up. But I guess you could say that this was my first fandom (even before Gundam Wing, and don't say anything about that, either), but there's so much bad fic out there than I kind of learned to set my expectations really low. I shall maintain that it was a learning experience and forget about it.

The old flame you don't see very often anymore but you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets.

Gundam Wing
Again, no talking. I was young, and I've learned better, but [livejournal.com profile] ponderosa121 makes such pretty art/fic...

Enterprise and Jake 2.0
Two shows that ended before their time, before I was really ready to go looking for a fandom on my own. But now that Sci Fi's running them, I feel myself drawn to them once more. Oh dear.

The mysterious dark gothy one you used to talk to until 3 AM at skanky coffeehouses and who you were quite smitten with until you realized he really was fucking crazy.

Lord of the Rings
Fucking crazy fandom! I put up with it for Harry Potter, probably because I'm a hardcore shipper so I stay away from most other stuff, but I can't do it with LotR. I just can't.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with, who drank up all your liquor, and who you'd still really like to fuck although you're relieved he doesn't actually live in town anymore.

X-Men (movie!verse)
I tried, I really did. But with canon like that, I just can't do it. I love Wolverine/Rogue to the bottom of my heart, but they kept with the Wolverine/Jean thing. Kill me now, please. (And why is Hugh Jackman so hot?)

Star Wars
Same thing. I really wanted to play with the new trilogy (Obi-Wan/Qui Gon OTP!!), but it's just so bad...

The steady.

Stargate SG-1
I can't even begin to explain why I love this show so much. Daniel/Jack and the sheer hotness that is Michael Shanks are just the surface glaze to it. This show hits so many of my storytelling kinks, it's not even funny. And it's almost over. *whimpers* Oh, show.

Harry Potter
I think I love to play with this fandom because there's just so much to play with. Yes, you're stuck with events turning out a certain way, but there's much space to play with in between. I seem to be a big fan of doomed couples (Daniel/Jack, Remus/Sirius, the Jedi, etc), and HP is a great way to get them. I'm not sure whether I want the seventh book to come sooner or never come at all.

The dirty little secret.

Mac Ads
Yes, I know I'm going to hell. Leave me alone to my crack.

The alluring stranger you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with.

Firefly/Serenity
I'd love to be able to write in this fandom, but I doubt it's ever gonna happen.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies, because the friendship is there but the chemistry isn't.

Stargate Atlantis
Yeah, just...no. It's not as good as the real thing.

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it's never gone anywhere.

Supernatural
A good chunk of the fandom bit of my flist has totally fallen for this show, and I bet I'd like it, since it seems like it would be my kind of thing, but I've never watched it. Hmm.

The one who slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, "Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?"

Battlestar Galactica
I just don't get it. I've watched a few eps, I have a rough idea whats going on, but I just don't see why it's so popular. Stargate's so much better!

The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks, and who she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you'd be happy for her except you just know it's going to end badly.

general anime fandom
I've got a couple of friends who've circled back to anime. Dears, as crazy as I sound geeking out about Stargate, the minute you start nattering on in Japanese cant I suddenly start looking normal.

Well apparently if fandom was like boyfriends I would have just as few as I've had in life! LOL.. and who can judge you on your entry drugs? I certainly won't!

Considering that you were my enabler? Nope, you've got no right.

Mac Ads \o/ I wonder if anyone ever predicted those things would acquire a fandom. I saw one I hadn't seen before, with them as kids in part of it, and about died giggling. If my seat in hell wasn't long reserved, the Mac Ads fandom would do it.
