Rotorua Dreamin'
Thursday, 23 February 2006 12:07Was incredibly foggy yesterday and this morning, and, as usual, it takes me right back to New Zealand. And when I was walking to the Diner this morning, I realised that my "happy place" is on a passenger train from Nelson to Christchurch, curled up with a book and a cup of Milo with nothing but fog out the window. And while the book and the Milo are all very well and good, it's the fog that I like the most.
Which is strange. Fog and snow have the same blanketing quality, and snow drives me emo after the first hour or so. Fog, however, makes me smile, even before the Great Trip Down Under. I guess I just see really thick fog as something I can wrap myself up in and disappear. *shrugs* Dunno.
In totally unrelated news, I kicked the physical anthropology exam's ass, and it felt delightful doing it.
Also, a political moment: South Dakota Passes Abortion Ban specifically aimed at giving the Supreme Court the opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade. No love, South Dakota, no love. I've been saying for years that you're a myth; why couldn't you have proved your existence by doing something good?
