So yeah, got up the guts to go to the GYN again, though this time I saw a doc in our health center rather than the woman at Kaiser.

Went through the usual blather about all the reasons why I really shouldn't be on hormones, and how my liver is going to die from all the painkillers I have to take for the cramps, and she gave me a script for something called Ponstel which is a cousin of stuff like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve, the prescription stuff the first GYN gave me that I knew wouldn't work and I was right) and works a different way so I should hopefully be able to take less of it.

Then we talked about the other problem, aka "why do my vaginal muscles hate me so much?", and the doc actually did a little poking and prodding down below. She thinks I might have a fibrous, imperforate hymen, and that I might consider a hymenotomy, which would either break or entirely remove my hymen, which would hopefully solve the problem. I'm loathe to have yet another surgery, so I'm going to talk about this with Mum and the various and sundry doctors.

Damn it all, why can't I be normal?
