melayneseahawk: (deadline screwed)

I really need a good dictation software. I mean, we all know I'm a big talker, but I've found that, especially in the realm of academics, I often find it easier to talk about a subject than to write about it. (This never used to be the case, I don't know what happened, but I can't freak out about that right now.)

So, any suggestions, oh ye tech savvy ones?

Oh, and a meme, because I should be working or sleeping, but I'm doing neither.

1. Go to the Wikipedia home page and click random article. That is your band's name.

Comment here and ask me ANYTHING about any fandom I'm involved in/have been involved in. Controversial or innocent, silly or serious, ask and you'll get my honest opinion on the subject (to the best of my knowledge/ability).

and anything else I might have forgotten

It's a compound question: How do you feel about the Matt and Mohinder raising Molly together? Good idea? Bad idea? Hot idea? Do you think Kring will leave well enough alone and just let the slashers 'ship in peace, or will he have to step in with a shiny bitchy princess for Matt or Mo like he did Hiro?

Yeah, I totally love the "Molly has two daddies" subplot (let me just say that every time the 3Ms are on stage screen, I start squealing). I think they work really well together, and it's clear Molly loves them both. I don't know Kring's overall body of work well enough to know whether he'll introduce a girl into the mix, but I really hope he doesn't.

That said, how cute was it when people started using the smoosh name "Walkmanesh" in fandom, and how frigging annoying is it now that people are writing stories where M3 all change their last name to sound like a knockoff of an outdated Sony product?

It was cute, really, until the first person that decide Molly would refer to herself thusly, and then it caught on like wildfire. Really sickeningly annoying wildfire.

Moebius demonstrates everything that's wrong with the SG-1 writers, y/n? Please expand.

Name any two characters with the most chemistry in each of your fandoms. :D

Oh dear God, kill me now.

Yeah, Moebius sucked ass. I mean, did we really need a flashback to all the worst aspects of geek!Daniel? And that kiss in the Puddlejumper timeship? With the fireworks? Three words: oh. hell. no.

You must recall, though, that I'm one of those people that firmly believes that the events after Moebius should be considered AU from the pre-Moebius, because the lake has fish.

*breathes*

And the second part:

Stargate SG-1: Jack and Daniel, hands down. Even if you're not a slasher, those two men light up the screen like no other.

Stargate Atlantis: *sigh* I really used to like the Rodney&Carson dynamic, the way they're friends despite the fact that Rodney's an ass really resonated with me. *sob* I never felt the strong John&Rodney (or John/Rodney) connection, and I'm only starting to feel it right now. Honestly, the reason I haven't fallen in love with Atlantis is because I don't see the chemistry there that's in SG-1, both between Jack and Daniel, and in the team (before Sam became SuperCarter).

Harry Potter: I love the Harry&Hermione interaction, I really do. Ron/Hermione is boring to me, actually, even though I 'ship them, but I like the way Harry and Hermione compliment each other when they're working. I don't love the way JK dumbed down Ron, especially in the last book; I really would have loved a focus in the trio, rather than just the two. (And yes, Remus/Sirius is my OTP, but I'm just working purely from the text, rather than the subtext for this.)

Eureka: I love the way Jo Lupo interacted with the world around her in the first part of the first season. She's really hot, and she's such a dyke, and I loved the way she could stand there and be hot and then pull out a huge sci-fi gun, and go at it. It's fun how she can handle not being as smart as everyone else, while Jack O'Neill Carter really can't. And did I mention that she's hot? :D

Supernatural: Dean and Sam are so totally brothers. Potential 'cest pairing aside, the sibling relationship between them is just so perfect.

Heroes: Hiro and Ando make me so very happy. :D

Firefly/Serenity: I love Mal and Zoe, the way they're connected by their pasts in a way that nobody else really gets. It's done so well, it makes me really miss what that show could have been.
