Two Cookie Recipes

I've been using D&D as an excuse to bake cookies every week, since I get to see other people that I can force them on feed them to. These are this and last weeks' recipes. They both came out really well.
ETA: Now with 100% more pictures!
Chocolate Snickerdoodles
7/8 and 2/3 cups all-purpose flour (it makes sense lower down, I swear)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp cocoa
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter (at room temp)
1/3 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350° and prepare baking sheets. I suggest you cover them with baking parchment; nothing sticks, and you don't have to deal with the mess of greasing them.
Combine flour, nutmeg, cocoa, baking powder, and salt and set aside. In another bowl, cream butter and 1/3 cup of sugar until light in color and texture, then beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients until smooth and completely mixed.
Mix remaining 2 tbsp sugar and the cinnamon on a rimmed plate. Roll dough into balls and roll them in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. These cookies do not spread at all, so they remain ball-shaped unless you flatten them some. Also, base the size on exactly how big you want them to be; the walnut-sized ball the recipe suggests makes really small cookies.
Place cookies on baking sheets; you don't need to leave more than an inch between them, they really don't spread. Bake for about 15 minutes, allow to cool on the tray for a minute, and then move to a wire rack.
Original recipe says it makes 32, I wound up with more.
Peanut Butter Cookies
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tbps all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter (at room temp)
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup plus 1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tsp brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together and set aside. In another bowl, cream butter, peanut butter, both sugars, and the vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Mix in dry ingredients until completely mixed. Dough will be very dry, don't worry about it.
Move dough into a smaller bowl and refrigerate for at least a few hours; you can also refrigerate it overnight.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350° and prepare baking sheets. I suggest you cover them with baking parchment; nothing sticks, and you don't have to deal with the mess of greasing them.
Allow dough to warm slightly and then shape into walnut-sized balls. Place them two inches apart on the baking sheets. Bake for about 15 minutes (until dark gold around edges and puffed in the center), allow to cool on the tray for a minute, and then move to a wire rack.
Original recipe says 18 large cookies. Mine were slightly smaller and I wound up with 44 of them.

Second batch of peanut butter cookies, with a peek at the awful counter tops in our kitchen.
I have the magical ability to make many more cookies than I'm supposed to wind up with. I have no idea how I did it.

But we have all the ingredients, and if they turn out well, they'll serve as a birthday gift for my SIL. :-)
Cross your fingers.
