WsIP, J/D-style

Hell, let's make this a meme.
~ For
stargate_summer, I am working on SPACE PIRATES another action/adventurey thing, with a J/D first time subplot. SG-1 is trapped in a solar system without an active 'gate, and must follow clues in the folklore of the system's planet-hopping pirates if they want to find the 'gate and get home. Plus, there's swashbuckling, Sam in drag, and Teal'c being the BAMF we know he is. :D
~ In May,
jd_ficathon will be launching a short and sweet prompt-a-thon. Keep an eye out for it.
~ I am still working on the final two stories of Acta Est Fabula, but I have to be in a certain mood for that, since it's dark and sad and makes me cry.
~ I still intend to finish An Apple a Day, but since my brother's gone away to college, I don't watch cartoons anymore. If I thought anyone would actually read it, I'd do some research and finish the damned thing.
~ I have about 430 words of a "Meridian"-fixit based on Tam Lin (I have an unnatural affection for that story), but I'm not entirely sure how to get from the scene I wrote to the climax of the plot, so I'm ignoring that one.
~ Also have about 500 words of a
jd_ficathon fic that I started and then changed directions, which plays on the idea that Daniel gained weight while he was trapped on Tegalus. I think all it needs is some sex, but I haven't looked at it in a while.
~ Then there's "Shape of His Heart", the poker player AU, which I can't write until I a) learn how to play poker and b) learn how to cheat at poker.
~ And then, of course, there is the Jealous of Your Cigarette novel-length sequel that my muse has been clamoring for that I have no idea how to go about writing.
There's some other stuff, too, but nothing I'm likely to work on anytime soon.
Observations: I seem to be shifting toward longer fic, at least in the Stargate fandom. Most of my existing fic is less than 5,000 words; almost everything on this list is either going to be novel or novella length, or standalone-ish chapters of larger works. Hmm.

8/3/11 00:59 (UTC)Hooray for swashbuckling!
Ooh, more 'Jealous of Your Cigarette' 'verse would be wonderful. :-)

8/3/11 01:32 (UTC)Swashbuckling is awesome. It means I need to write a swordfight, but it'll be worth it.
The "Jealous" sequel would be an actual casefile, where Jack brings Daniel in to help solve the case because there's some hinky symbolism or something. All I have is the first scene of them in bed and the idea that it needs to be a casefile, but I know nothing about what the actual case should be.
