And the diagnosis is...
Monday, 22 August 2005 14:10...supraventricular tachycardia. Probably. I've got a hi-tech heart monitor for the next month to catch the arrythmia 'on tape'. The monitor doesn't include any nasty sticky things; it's smaller than a deck of cards and I just have to put my thumbs on the sensors for 30 seconds for it to get a reading. And I send the readings in over the phone! It's cool, and a new technology. *does a dance* I love technology when it works.
Supraventricular tachycardia is basically when there's an extra bit of tissue in my heart somewhere that has its own electricity, and it periodically takes over and makes everything go faster (Dr. Berger, you explain it better. :) ). The curative procedure includes surgery, but nothing grandiose. Bleh.
At least I have a name for it now. Now, must eat something and then start making lists. Woo.
