I think that the show needs to continue. K said that it's not getting good ratings or something, and if that means they don't make any more Dollhouse I will be most disappointed. That said, most of the episodes manage to freak me out in some way, and that's got me a bit on the fence--but DEFINITELY enjoy the show and want to see it develop more.
K loves Dollhouse. It has a lot of potential, and lots of twists and turns. She also likes the thematic elements of the episodes. It could end where it is right now, but she wants to see the 13th episode, even though it's stand-alone and won't be released online.
I dunno, there's parts of the premise that really skeeved me. IMHO, this idea would have made a much better movie; in a multiple episode TV show, they forget that this is supposed to be fucking creepy, whereas in a film I think that wouldn't get lost.
I agree that there were some interesting ideas (especially Alpha, I wanted to see more of him), but I'm not sure they were developed the right way. I also had some major problems with a few of the characters (Ballard, mostly, and the more we saw of November-as-Mellie, the more I wanted to scream). There was a lot of genderfail, in a way that surprised me, considering it was Whedon.
I know the 13th ep will be on the DVD, and I'm sure someone will upload it illegally. I'm sure it would be pretty easy to track down after the DVDs come out.
